So today, I would like to ask for the help of some ladies in the room 🙂
I would like to draw a serie of comics that would include tall girls problems AND short girls problems. The thing is, as most of you may have noticed, I’m not short. Like, at all. Therefore I have absolutely no idea of what a short girl’s life is about !
THIS IS FOR THE SHORTIES OUT THERE ! (real shorties k ? Only because you’re 5’5″ and wish you were a little bit taller doesn’t make you short) (sorry 😉 ) So again, this is for the shorties in the room and for the shorties friends anyone in the room has ! Pass it on !
So shorties ! I want to hear about your stories ! ANYTHING. The pros and the cons, something funny/sad/mean/weird that happened to you once, something that happens recurrently in shorties lives, nicknames people give/gave you, things short girls have trouble doing, things that are easier for short girls, why is being short the best thing in the world, why is it complicated, school stories, adult stories, ANYTHING about SHORTIES ;D
I will leave it there for a while to get as many stories as possible.
You can post your story as a comment here. It’s also happening on Tall N Curly’s Facebook page, and if you have some story you don’t want to tell in public, send it to me at at tallncurly@rocketmail.com ! 😉
Thank you all for your help and let’s all LAUGH AT OURSELVES TOGETHER !!!! :DDD

Yo wassup, 5’2″ curly girl here and got some things to say (btw, LOVE all your comics about Curly Girl Problems 🙂 !!!
Pros:
– Kids’ clothes are waaaaaaay cheaper if you can still fit into them 🙂
– People think you’re younger than you are
– You can get away with things because “you’re cute”
Cons:
– People think you’re younger than you are (I’M NOT A SIXTH GRADER!!!)
– You can’t reach the top shelf 🙁
– People use you as an arm rest
– All your friends are like 6 inches taller than you
– Getting called “shortie”
– Just to name a few!

I am not freakishly short but I fall into the category of being shorter than many people. Here is what is good:
-you always have leg space
-you aren’t intimidating at all
-no matter what, you are always seen as cute
– you can wear heels (but why, heels are uncomfortable)
-people think you are younger.
Here is what isn’t good:
-tall people pat you on your head or use you as an armrest to be funny
-you can be mistaken for a kid
-lots of teens are taller than you
-pants and dresses are too long
-awkward hugs
-you can’t reach unless you have a step ladder or sturdy counters to scale.
– more often than not you are armpit height and if the bus is crowded you might get really too close for comfort with someone’s pits if there is a sudden lurch

4’11”, modestly sized hair
Here are some of my best:
When I was a Senior in HS, I went to take my SATs. A teacher approached me as I headed toward my testing room and tried to direct me to the middle-schooler PSATs. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-dge
First week living with a BF and he does my laundry to be nice. Holds up one of my shirts and is like “This can’t really be clothes. These are doll clothes. People aren’t this size.”

Getting caught climbing on kitchen counters just to reach a damn drinking glass.
Building Poltergeist-like chair stacks to reach upper storage
—
Having a nice ass and short legs. Can’t shop in the kid’s section, can’t wear human-sized pants.

Cons of being short:
•People have mistaken me for a 4th grader when I was 12.
•Climbing on counters to reach things
•Boob to face hugs ._.
•Always having to kneel in pictures because there’s another row of slightly taller short people behind you
•Some sports are harder (like basketball)
•People still pat my head
•Realizing that you will be this height for the rest of your life, and you’ll never catch up to your friends unless you wear super tall heels
•Wishing you were taller (maybe 5’5″???)
•Going on your tiptoes to hug or kiss people.
•Some people while sitting down are as tall as you are while standing up ;-;
So yeah. Being short can suck too :’)
