So today, I would like to ask for the help of some ladies in the room 🙂
I would like to draw a serie of comics that would include tall girls problems AND short girls problems. The thing is, as most of you may have noticed, I’m not short. Like, at all. Therefore I have absolutely no idea of what a short girl’s life is about !
THIS IS FOR THE SHORTIES OUT THERE ! (real shorties k ? Only because you’re 5’5″ and wish you were a little bit taller doesn’t make you short) (sorry 😉 ) So again, this is for the shorties in the room and for the shorties friends anyone in the room has ! Pass it on !
So shorties ! I want to hear about your stories ! ANYTHING. The pros and the cons, something funny/sad/mean/weird that happened to you once, something that happens recurrently in shorties lives, nicknames people give/gave you, things short girls have trouble doing, things that are easier for short girls, why is being short the best thing in the world, why is it complicated, school stories, adult stories, ANYTHING about SHORTIES ;D
I will leave it there for a while to get as many stories as possible.

I’m 5 ft 2 and I’ve been called mini-me, munchkin, baby cakes….my brother who is 18 years younger than me is now my height 🙁 …ppl love to lift you up, rest their elbows on your head and worst yet ruffle your hair…….I’m a newbie transitioner all of 4 months if even that……..now getting accustom to the curls and my TWA :)…..loving your comic strips
Being five one and a half….hemming clothing was and is a problem for me. If it is too long, I will put it back. Also, reaching for items on the top shelf….rarely will I ask for help most just grab the item for me but I do sheepishly say thank you<3.
Also, most fifth graders are my height now.
I am 5’3. So I could be shorter, but I am still pretty short. I coach gymnastics and my 12 yr old girls are my height….that is saying something. I love my height 🙂
Well there’s not reaching the counter…
I get SO many cracks about how half my height/weight comes from my hair.
People like to pet my head more often because it’s curly AND easy to reach.
People lean on me.
I can’t see things in crowds.
It’s REALLY hard to dance with tall people. Even with heals I’ve had dates over a foot taller than me.
Still, I’d rather be short or tall than normal 🙂 Just like I’d rather be curly than straight. It makes me special!
As a short curly haired girl just finding this site I love these comic they are hilarious. At standing only 5′ I can think of plenty of things.
1. I’m 21 years old and people still find it neccesary to pick me up and throw me around like a little kid with no warning.
2. Grocery shopping is a pain when you have wait for people in the isle your in to leave because I don’t wanna ask for help but refuse to allow them see you jump for it.
3. Friends always wanna high five and when I mean high five extend there arm all the way up forcing you to jump.
4. Any time any one around drops something you are are ask to pick it up because you closer to the ground.
5.no matter where you shop wether it says pettite or short pant will be too long and capris will look like high water pants.

HEMMING CLOTHES 90% OF THE TIME IS NOT FUN! UUUUUUGH! VERY FEW STORES HAVE DECENT CLOTHES FOR SHORTIES…..
-I’m glad I’m not the only grocery store ninja! Although there are people who refuse to go with me to the grocery store because I’d rather climb the shelves than ask for help.
-I’m 24 and my lack of height plus my large hair (and my fat dimply cheeks) often makes people accuse me of being 16– I almost got a bartender fired because his boss thought he was serving to a high school girl! Sigh.
-Standing in front of the boyfriend (at a concert/party/sports game) is hard because I don’t want to smash my hair against his chest.
-Oh and shorties are in the perfect position for people who like to touch the hair first and ask after. I’m also in the perfect position for a quick punch to the gut. (Shorties are a little temper prone).
-I have an aunt that’s 5’9″ & my baby brother is 6’2″ and to them everything that is wrong with me is the result of my lack of height. I forgot my shoes– midgets don’t need shoes, I don’t like bacon- short people can’t eat pork, my favorite color is yellow- it makes little people happy, etc., etc.
Honestly, I wouldn’t ask for anything else— if I had the extra 6 inches I was supposed to have [I’m 5’3″, mom’s 5’5″, dad is 6’0″ — we’re twins, I’m definitely his btw] I would be infinitely more vain so, my height keeps me down to earth (insert short joke here).
Hi i’m Alice and i’m vertically challenged…jk my little sister always says i’m vertically challenged and I can see why I stopped growing when i was 16 i’ currently 18 and i’m 5”2 barely …okey okey i’m 5’1.8 anyways what i’ve noticed is that
1.when you’re short people automatically think you’re cute
2.They think that it’s funny calling me a midget,umpa lumpa, dwarf hobbit etc…
3.Not only am I tiny I also have a baby face which makes life super hard when i’m constantly asked for my id when i want to buy a 12A game (SERIOUSLY THIS IS ANNOYING my 12 year old cousin had to buy the game for me!!)
4.People think picking you up and tossing you about without permission is okey .. like if it’s a game or something
5.Constantly have to be a ninja when it comes to things being placed out of reached, seriously i have to climb up surfaces and balance on things to get what I want

For some reason, as a shortie, our heads look a little too big for our bodies. I am 5 ft with effort. When my bff wanted to push my buttons all she had to say was ‘big head, little body.’
there is also the fact that NO ONE will take a short person seriously. that is where the short person complex comes from. 🙂
THEN add frizzy curls to a short body. *sigh* talk about poodle complex when you are as small as one!
Oh this is good 😀 Big head little body XD Well I do feel the exact opposite, thinking I look like having a pea on top of my long never-ending body, that’s one of the reasons why I prefer having long and voluminous hair ! 😀
