So today, I would like to ask for the help of some ladies in the room ๐
I would like to draw a serie of comics that would include tall girls problems AND short girls problems. The thing is, as most of you may have noticed, I’m not short. Like, at all. Therefore I have absolutely no idea of what a short girl’s life is about !
THIS IS FOR THE SHORTIES OUT THERE ! (real shorties k ? Only because you’re 5’5″ and wish you were a little bit taller doesn’t make youย short) (sorry ๐ ) So again, this is for the shorties in the room and for the shorties friends anyone in the room has ! Pass it on !
So shorties ! I want to hear about your stories ! ANYTHING. The pros and the cons, something funny/sad/mean/weird that happened to you once, something that happens recurrently in shorties lives, nicknames people give/gave you, things short girls have trouble doing, things that are easier for short girls, why is being short the best thing in the world, why is it complicated, school stories, adult stories, ANYTHING about SHORTIES ;D
I will leave it there for a while to get as many stories as possible.
You can post your story as a comment here. It’s also happening on Tall N Curly’s Facebook page, and if you have some story you don’t want to tell in public, send it to me at at tallncurly@rocketmail.com ! ๐
Thank you all for your help and let’s all LAUGH AT OURSELVES TOGETHER !!!! :DDD

I got frustrated and flew into a tizzy the other day when, while cleaning, my husband reorganized and moved my favorite mug and all bowls up a shelf and put my favorite cereal on top of the fridge. I needed a new kitchen stool so i I stalked him in the living room to ask him if he wanted me to starve, why couldn’t I have breakfast like a normal person and so on. He laughed it off, bought me a stool and moved my bowls back but it was time for a prank war… why get me the stool if you moved my cereal, bowls and mug back huh? I have a specific set up, geeze! But we all have our little quirks, lol.

Well…I had a tall friend and always sympathized with her. One time I heard a guy say he likes likes short girls because he’s intimidated by tall women, doesn’t like that they can look him in the eye. Something about it didn’t feel right :/ So I liked hearing he felt superior to me since I was sooo short and made him feel safe. Riiiiiight *sarcasm*. That’d be cute to show in a comic…maybe.
Also, I heard another guy said he scouts tall girls when he’s out dancing. Calls them “leggers”. He’s tall himself and wanted to land a “legger” so he could “breed” tall athletic kids. Whaaaaaa???
Hm. Also, in middle school, I remember there was this girl who bullied me. We were around the same height (short). Well, my bff was like 5’7. One day she was in an argument with the short girl and was talking about her and said “What would I be scared of her for? She’s like up to here!” (and she points to her waist). Well, I felt a lot of love for my tall friend that day because suddenly my bully didn’t seem so invincible. Suddenly her height was like a shield for both of us at the time, since she said it that way. I would’ve never said it and I hadn’t thought of it, but I felt cool that she was my friend once she pointed it out.

Growing up I never felt short. I always felt tall but the reason behind it was that i was the tallest one in my nuclear family im even closer to my dad’s height and im onbly 5’0 ft and ill take my half inch too lol so when i got married i became the shortest and all the jokes were on me esp when my hubby and i wrestle he’s 6’2 he can literally put his hand on my head and stop me from hitting him. Also when i met his brother for the first time he said man you looked taller in the picture lol I guess i just laugh it off. I feel tall until i have to reach for something. Reaching for something has always been my trick using chairs, jumping to hang coats on the closet door attemping to put something pack i knocked over. I think reaching stuff is always like janga its tough but ill figure it out.
Pros: Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
Mastering how to walk in heels to atleast be average height lol
Having friends taller than you makes it look like you have security
Can fly when thrown lol
I dont have to duck all the time
Another funny story just happened recently: My brother in law was moving in with his fiancee but at her grandmas house theres this low hanging lamp he was sitting underneath it and stood up so fast he almost broke it, while i can just go underneath it without ducking or getting hit, i didnt even notice it was there
Cons: Shopping is a pain when short and top heavy euuh
Pants never seem to be just right ( gotta roll them up old school style)
Not winning wrestling games due to tall people with long arms and legs
Playing janga with chairs can lead to falls or getting stuck
I think the pants thinks is the worst
Never been called short names bc my name is more fun enough to make up which is Quest so i got called Johnny Quest, Quessy Messy (baby nickname and if u catch my drift) Questionmark and QB/Quarterback
I hope its not too long but thats all

I’m 5’2.5″ but luckily I have the arms of a full-sized person LOL!! My roommates were shorties too, but I was the only one who could reach even close to the back of our kitchen cabinets. And when one of our guy friends came over and (unthinkingly) moved a box back on the top of the fridge, we would be like “who the hell put that there! Nobody can reach it!” And then we had to either climb on the counter or use a step stool =_=.
Also the shelves in grocery stores were made by someone who hates short people. lol. Being short and curly means that people won’t ask if they can touch your hair, because it’s at perfect hair molesting height.

I stopped growing at age 12…I am 4’11 but I claim 5 feet. I never got picked on but I am constantly reminded by people I know, people I don’t. I use too always wear heels, always.. I was especially afraid that I wouldn’t be able to find a compatible boyfriend. But now I have learned to embrace ever inch of myself. My hair has been natural all my life but I am finally wearing it out and not covering it with weaves and flatironing. AND….I wear flat shoes now! Yay! Lol! They are so much more comfortable. I am 23 years old but I am always mistaken for 16 or younger lol. I have to live with this until they come up with Knee Surgury -___- Lolz!! Love this blog! I will be following you and your art work is beautiful!! What career are you in?? I am striving to be a graphic designer. Ok talk to you laterz ๐

Oh and my shopping market experience is the opposite of yours. Because of my height, I have a tendency to try to prove myself. Soooo, at the store I do not ask for help to get things out of my reach. I try ever method to get it myself but most of the time I hear…….FOOTSTEPS! At this point I try to hurry and get it but I am usually to late. Someone taller will grab it for me and say “you looked like you needed help”. I appreciate this, I do, but I would rather they asked if I need help first lol. Petty I guess. I just smile, say thank you, and move one ๐

I stopped growing at the age of 14, now I’m 24. I got called names like ooompa loopa, munchkin, little-me, mini-me, etc.
When I was 22, I went to the doctor for a check up and I had already accepted my height of being 5 feet until he told me I was 5’1″, I said “Devil you is a lie!” The nurse told me ‘I was wrong for that’ and I told her ‘He shouldn’t have lied to me’. I apologized and laughed later.

People say “aawwww you’re so cute, can I pinch your cheeks?” lmbo Cause I have chubby cheeks. When I think of “cute” I always think of an stuffed animal. lol It’s funny
Yaya says
This always happens to me too. My Younger Sister does this too me all the time. “Aww you’re so cute” as if I was a small puppy

Truth be told, i love being short, lol I’m about 5’3 give or take an inch and I don’t run run into too many difficulties or annoyances except for when i have to reach something that is really high. Or when some tall jerk (no offense) feels the need to either sit in front of me in a movie theater or stand in front of me when i’m waiting in line somewhere. I just love being fun sized usually though. I even love getting picked on about it sometimes. LOL ๐ Soooo…how’s the weather up there?!? <—Sorry i know it was corny, but i had to say it. LOL

I’m a shortie, I’m 5 foot 2 and a half. I always get omg, you are so adorable you are so tiny. How old are you 16? Just because I am 26 doesn’t mean I need to be reminded how short I am and that I look so young. Or sometimes when you go to shopping to pick out clothes and the sales associate asks if you are looking for something and takes you to the juniors section. I am a grown woman, and shop in the petite section. lol

“You’re so tiny” hahahaha from my perspective this is the cutest thing anyone could ever say to me I NEVER heard this hahaha too cute XD Well ! Eternal youth !! That’s something to be grateful about !! ๐
