First, I would like to thank Mikki for sharing her story ! π Too bad I never heard back from you, I could have put you in the comic. For other people who sent me your stories, please check you spams from time to time, you might find an email I sent asking you to send me a picture. π Now.
Never ask a girl with curly kinky hair to do something she doesn’t want to do
If you do, expect either a big surprise or her anger – and generally both.
Other things you should never do to a girl with curly kinky hair without her being fully prepared :
– take off her beanie
– shake her hair with your hands
– pull her hair strands
– spray water over her hair for fun – HAHAHAHAHAHA. Nope. NOT FUNNY.
– force her to go under water in the swimming pool – you could die for that
– hide something in her hair
– take all her hair in your hands and try to make a ponytail out of it
– run your fingers through her hair
… actually you know what ? Let’s make this simple.
Here are the 10 commandments for anyone who knows a girl with curly/kinky hair
1. Don’t do anything to her hair without her being fully prepared.
Oh well. Seems like there’s only one. Simple isn’t it ? So follow it people, and you’ll stay ALIVE.

Yeaaaah… I’m such a fraud… The truth is I would put my hands deep in every single curly/kinky head out there!! And like when I meet a tall girl? Always biting my lips NOT to ask “How tall are you?”… such a fraud… π

Hi!! ha this is something that happend to me in class the other week
So im in a college class in one of those lecture type rooms, and I know my teacher very well. Shes and older lady around in her 60’s but she still looks like 57.But anyway so Im sitting in my seat in and Im just minding my own buisness. I had my hair up in like a stretch curly, puff so it was all puffy, because of the humidity. And she looks at me and she says, (in front of like 40 people) ” Erica reminds me of the boy from little rascals with her hair like that” (snikers everywhere) and she says “But I can say that because shes my friend.” – I was really embarrassed because I really know her well but I was like shocked at the same time. Totally not cooleyo.

Worddddd!!!lool. People with easily malleable hair always feel there’s a secret thing they haven’t let you in on yet and once you try it you’ll thank them for life and it usually doesn’t work out the way it is in their head.

I love this one it used to be like that for me when I was in high school people used always want to touch my hair thinking they wouldn’t mess it up
Rachel says
When people ask to touch my curly hair, I warn them that it bites. They usually laugh, do it anyway, and when their fingers are caught in it, they realize that I wasn’t joking.

An excellent commandment, although I would personally phrase it “Don’t do anything to another persons body unless they are fully prepared and you have their permission.”
I can enjoy physical contact, but only if I know it will happen and have been given the chance to opt out. As such, hugs and handshakes I can choose not to partake in are fine, but pats on the back are horrifying, and touching my hair is even worse.
My sisters last boyfriend never grasped this. Every time he touched my hair or torso without permission, my reaction was the same, but he somehow believed this would change with time, that if he just waited another two months or so, it’d be okay to touch my back, shoulder or hair next time. Despite all evidence, and my word, pointing to the contrary. I screamed or growled every. time. Hell, the first time we met he touched my shoulder when I presented myself, and my reply was “Don’t touch me.” in a low growl. And he still never got it!

I would also add willing or agreeable to that commandment.People with “perfect” or easy hair to work with have no idea the obstacles others climb through to shape/style their hair.If you aren’t a beautician with the qualified knowledge and skills please don’t offer suggestions or advice on an issue you have no comprehension of.I’m sure it’s meant with good intentions but that’s not always enough. Not to a woman who has tried everything under the sun and spent oodles and oodles of money on new hair products that make promises they can’t fulfill. It isn’t cute to ruin a hairdo it took 1 to 2 hrs. to manage because you think our hair should behave or shape in some way in your mind and won’t take no for an answer. (Okay I’ll get off my soap box now. *BIG SIGH* You probably guessed by now this is a pet peeve of mine!!That and people, especially strangers, touching my hair as they please.)
