I can relate to almost everything! <3
Although I have to admit that my hair actually got better after being highlighted at a good salon. It was much more shiny and looked/felt healthier even though I was quite sceptical at first. Its relaxing that really killed my hair.
You’re right! Highlighting is not the problem, relaxing is. It’s because I used to relax my hair that when I transitioned and got some highlights my hair literally broke off. I have an ombre now and my hair feels great! 🙂
Ive been natural for almost 2 years and i fear ALL of that. Other people are scared of heights or the dark but im scared of heat damage lol. Love your comics I feel like we’re the same person!!! Ill be damned if I let anyone do my hair but me. -__- Theres this article about a stylist sneaking a relaxer into a natural girl’s hair wtf. Someone wouldve had to hold my earrings because I wouldve gotten violent and relaxed their eyebrows. -____________-
Hello
I came across your post while trying to find the holy grail: fixing my unruly curly hair. I quite enjoy your illustrated works for I can relate to some of these hair dramas. My biggest issue is that my hair has a mind of its own and can be very capricious when I try to tame it.
Keep the good work- always glad to find a comrade 😉
For the record I was tall and curly, I think tall women have awesome legs.
I’m an average (5’5″) and kinky – coils (3c /4a) I have never relaxed or dye my hair but the day I decided not to wear braids anymore.I got no support for my family and all my friends attacked my hair. Everybody told me dreaded it, weave it put braids back.
I say flip them I love AND would fight for my hair!!!
Thank you for the inspiration

Looks like you’re doing “Call me!” in the end. That’s some awesome art.
