As I’m away from home for a little while, I don’t have access to my drawing tablet. Therefore, I can’t post new stuff right now on my blog, so I’ve decided to post doodles.
I draw something, scan it, put colors on it and post it, everything in less than 5 minutes.
So here’s my first one :
I often wonder what would happen, when I’m asked or told how tall I am by somebody, if I just answered back by asking a question about a physical aspect of that person too. Would it make that person realize how annoying/stupid/mean/useless it is to come up to me and make a comment about my unusual height ? Dunno.
Worth trying it though.
I’ve done this when I have perceived the comments as derogatory. Usually, I just don’t bother, no matter how repetitious it gets. I just don’t have enough f**ks to give to give one for everyone who cannot put themselves in my metaphorical size 51 shoes. (euro size.)
I carry round stickers that say ‘well done’, and when someone says ‘wow, your so tall!” i give them one.

Since I felt so bad for so long when people made mean-spirited fun of my height, I can’t intentionally be mean to others. I love making them laugh instead…at me or themselves, either way laughter is a great way to break the ice about obviouslies. (A friend of mine from Europe says she always gets comments about her obviously thick accent, which made me realize everybody has something that makes them different, so use it to connect or disconnect…you have the power.) I’ve been 6’2″ since I was 16, and my 5’6″ high school boyfriend at the time gave me my favorite line to use when asked if I played basketball: No, I clean giraffe ears! One of my all-time favorite height gags was while boarding a plane that had video monitors on the ceiling down the middle of the aisle. I pretended to smack my forehead loudly into every one of them until I got to my seat in the middle of the plane. The gasps, giggles, and guffaws it inspired still make me smile! And your cartoons make me laugh out loud and make me grateful that you have so cleverly captured the essence of not fitting in! Especially squeeze airlines, boyfriend dryer, hobbits, etc. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the honest laughs!!! Happy tall and curly holidays!

Ahhh, good times, good jokes. I’ll have to try the “I clean giraffe ears” line sometime! That’s hilarious.
One time, on a class trip, we were walking under some trees with low hanging branches by a marina. I was getting bored of ducking all the time so I was going to play a prank and pretend to hit my head on a branch. Seconds before I attempt the stunt, a friend who was texting and not watching where he was going actually hit his head on an especially low hanging branch. Way to steal my thunder short stuff. When we made it out of the tunnel of green we saw a sign that read “Warning: Low hanging branches” and all enjoyed a good laugh.
I swear!! I say this in my mind!! not mean enough to say it tho..
Something i do sometimes when im in a packed up bus: If im seated i will slowly get up on purpose and watch people’s amazed reaction as if they were thinking (is she never gonna stop at one point) lool

i agree with anonymous i am really tall and have this really weird curly hair and they say man u are like a giant with a giant afro. Its annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
